Boris Werner is without a doubt one of the most beloved musical figures in the expansive Amsterdam scene.
Bringing indestructible grooves to dancefoors all over the globe, from DJ sets at Trouw to Circoloco and beyond, alongside music featured on the likes of Get Physical, Rush Hour, Soweso, Moon Harbour, and Supplement Facts, Boris Werner now has a new release out, “Badabing Badaboum EP,” which as received heavy support from the likes of Seth Troxler and Richy Ahmed.
Here, with the release available now and ahead of next week’s Amsterdam Dance Event, Boris Werner gives the inside details as only a local could on the 5 places he most enjoy’s in his home city.
1. Volkshotel Rooftop
Love to chill and hang in the hot tub after a nice session in the basement of the Volkshotel where I have my studio. A nice extra is the amazing view you have from the city, all of a sudden Amsterdam doesn’t feel that small anymore…
A bar/restaurant by day and an awesome little club by night. Known for their late hour parties over the last few years, this is my favorite afterparty hang out. Make sure you pass by one the VBX parties during the ADE week.
3. Cannibale Royale
For all you meat lovers out there, check out the different establishments of Canibale Royale. My favorite is the one in the Pijp, burgers and steaks are ace… You should also try their pepper tequila, perfect beginning of a sweaty night of clubbing!
For some nice 2nd hand records you should visit Killacutz in the Nieuwe Nieuwstraat, over the years they collected a huge collection that varies from oldschool 90’s house to more modern techno and house stuff, highly recommended!!
5. De Vergulde Eenhoorn
Situated in an old farm, De Vergulde Eenhoorn is a lovely place in the east of Amsterdam, where you can forget daily city life instantly and enjoy a nice glass of wine and delicious food in an almost burgundian way. Also a perfect place to hang by the fireplace with some nice company 😉
