Living in Amsterdam has been somewhat of a musical journey for 25-year-old Lukas. Originally a singer-songwriter and guitarist in several bands, the last few years he has been discovering all kinds of new music, including electronic music. Always interested by new and progressive sounds, his newfound love is for deephouse and techno music.

Interview: Ellen Allien

As a youngster, the BPitch Control label signified my introduction to electronic music. Modeselektor’s Happy Birthday and Hello Mom provided countless party anthems for me and my friends, and seeing them live was a downright revelation (champagne shower mosh pits, anyone?).  Paul Kalkbrenner, Sacha Funke, Kiki, basically each and every single artist attached to BPitch helped forge my taste in electronic music. But one BPitch album especially blew my mind: ‘Orchestra of Bubbles’, a collaboration between Ellen Allien and Apparat. A musical journey; a fascinating collection of tracks that once and for all obliterated my skepticism towards the ability of electronic music to evoke emotions. ... Read more

Ever since Innervisions dropped the ‘Gotham’ EP, one of 2013’s undisputed summer anthems, everyone wanted to know who this mystery man (or woman?) is that calls himself Ten Walls. Exclusive Interview with Chasing Kurt

Chasing Kurt is a project which originated in Gießen / Germany – a collaboration between Pascal Blanché, Wojtek Kutschke and Lukas Poloczek. Pascal and Wojtek, both Deep House lovers for many years, started doing their first tracks, but were still in need of those vocal hooks that would finish their sound. Wojtek, himself a DJ for a long time, one day played in his hometown – at the same time Lukas worked at a bar in this location and after Wojteks set he was singing some phrases while closing the bar – Wojtek heard his voice and asked Lukas if ... Soul Clap Records has another winner on their hands with Nick Monaco’s ‘The Stalker EP’. A soulful, funky drop that makes you want to do very naught things. What does Berlin do to a DJ? Many have undergone the journey, and it’s safe to say there is not one straight answer to that question. For Eric Volta and Sebastian Voigt however, it has proven to be a wise choice, catching attention from the scene through many endeavouring projects. Both started their career in London, meeting at the now infamous Lokee parties, which Sebastian founded and where ... Read more
