‘Disco Grocery Shopping’ To Host New Edition In Berlin
Remember the news we brought back in April about a crazy idea that became reaility: to transform a regular supermarket into a disco for one night, including dance floor, DJs, professional lighting spectacles (together with the store’s manager who was having the time of his life amidst the crazy crowd)? After the first edition’s incredible success – both in reaction from its visitors and the amount of media coverage that followed – Disco Boodschappen, or ‘Disco Grocery Shopping’ is going to be making its way to the heart of Germany for a brand new edition of their event, only this time in Berlin.
The Amsterdam-based organiser, Tosti Creative (who also brought our city a tomato fight in the middle of dam square, a city beach right in front of Amsterdam Central Station and a Floating Bar during SAIL Amsterdam), had been thinking about moving their Disco Grocery Shopping concept abroad. Tosti’s Joost Aartsen explains: “Together with our main sponsor Warsteiner we went looking for suitable locations across the border, and so we came up with Berlin.”
Fans from the Netherlands who want to come along don’t have to worry, as the organisation has rented a bus and a hotel in the German capital. So for 100 euros, Dutchies who wouldn’t want to miss this international edition of Disco Boodschappen can come along.
Which German supermarket has agreed to lend one of its stores for a Disco takeover has not yet been announced. For more info, visit the event page.
Update: Hot of the press! The latest addition to the line-up for Disco Boodschappen Berlin is none other than Prunk. There is also a Berlin DJ joining the party… But who exactly will remain a secret for now.
