Special Free Download In Celebration Of 100k SC followers
Two years ago Deep House Amsterdam started out as a humble Soundcloud channel featuring mixtapes from upcoming local and international deep house DJs. Those two years have gone by quickly, and with your help we have been able to pull the platform to the next level. But even though DHA has more to it now than just mixtapes, it’s still the element that we’re probably most known for. That is why we’re excited to say that today we have reached the magical number of 100.000 followers on our Soundcloud page. And to thank all of you for your interest, enjoying the music and supporting us we want to give you an exclusive free track. It’s made by one of the most creative production minds in Amsterdam at the moment. Frits Wentink (mix)
Frits Wentink was born and raised in Utrecht and is one of those artists of whom you just know that he’ll be setting the musical trends in the future. Inclining and combining house, techno and bass elements, he’s fixed on developing his original and eclectic sound, which is not only portrayed by his diverse musical taste, but also by the amount of monikers he has. He goes under the names Frits Wentink, Steve Mensink, Felix Lenferink or as 1/2 of the duo Will & Ink.
At 24 years of age he can show off an impressive repertoire on esteemed British labels such as a remix for FCL on 2020Vision, an EP on Wolf Music Recordings, Fourth Wave and Triphouse Rotterdam. And if you didn’t hear of these releases, chances are you moved your body to it on a dance floor, since Frits is being highly acclaimed since 2013 by renowned DJs who have been playing his records in their sets. But there’s a big chance that you will see Frits in the near future, for his gig schedule is starting to expand.
Production-wise Frits has got an EP lined up on Heist Recordings, the label of Detroit Swindle, followed by his keenly awaited debut album later this year, which he’ll drop on Wolf Music Recordings. The give-away track ‘Ready Set Go’ is a mystifying groover with jazzy vocals that puts the deep back in deep house. If you didn’t know, you would attribute that swinging 808 percussion to some forgotten Chicago gem from the older days. We hope you enjoy it.
