Suol’s head honchos Chopstick & Johnjon are back with a brand new EP, continuing to blaze a trail through the international House and Techno scene.
Both as joint label managers and as a production team, Chopstick & Johnjon have come a long way in their tens years in the game. During their early years in particular the duo set about exploring electronic music like kids in a sweet shop. Fearless and bold, they surrendered themselves to the moment, but with the Suol label they seem to have found their spiritual home for the time being.
With Suol, the successor label to Baalsaal brought to life in 2009, they are in the process of cementing their long-term success as an A&R team. Featuring Daniel Bortz, Till von Sein, Trickski, Tender Games, Meggy and Fritz Kalkbrenner, they have put together an illustrious roster of artists within just a short space of time.
Today we premiere the EP’s last track, ‘Track of Time’, a little gem called featuring Larissa Kapp, whose lush vocals sit beautifully on what is almost a ballad – a ballad with a huge 808 that is. After many listeners were especially fond of the way the duo were able to combine great songs with club appeal on their LP “Twelve”, this rare ability is certainly in full effect once more here in the form of the fresh four tracker: “Closer”.
“Closer” EP is available 27 November on Suol Music
