Everything that comes out of the US, electronic music wise, can simply astonish you at first sight and in the case of the newly established Brooklyn dance music record label, Safer At Night, things aren’t different at all.
Safer At Night is a record label as much as it is a DJ collective composed of Curses,DKDS & Total Fitness whom themselves are the proud initiators of this elaborate project. Established earlier this year and with their first SAN001 dropping April 1st and it features Curses himself showcasing how the label aides-mémoires of house, electronica and all gotham like hallmark sounds and numinous atmospheres that carves it’s aura. The nocturnal drive of Safer At Night caught the auricles of clubbers at this year’s WMC and soon enough the entire world.
As their 6th release comes from the Curses himself again, it seems to become a cycle of every five releases where we can all relish his stirring choices in matter of electronic music perception. “Heartbeat” is composed of three tracks whereas all of them slice on the electronica platter in concordance with today’s flaring sound.
The track that withholds the same name as the EP, Heartbeat, and floats on an airy assimilation of dark and light sounds as the track is divides itself in two separate chapters. With a mild progression and vocals that prevail toward the breakdown, the concave sentimentality of the track raises thoughts of an implosive core.
Curses – Heartbeat is out on Safer At Night on August 19th on all major webstores.
