After breaking through with standout releases on labels like Wolf + Lamb, the last few years have seen Londoner jozif cement himself as a unique musical voice in the world of electronic music. Far from just programming beats that make you jack, his music is some of the most beautiful you will hear, with lush string arrangements, emotive pianos and golden synths coming together into soundscapes that will melt your heart as well as warm your soul.
The glorious creative love affair between Londoner jozif and LA- based Culprit continues unabated, with the artist’s fourth release for the imprint in as many years. Six months after the first ‘Waikiki’ EP by jozif, Culprit releases its follow-up. The two originals on ‘Waikiki 2’ highlight jozif’s inimitable sound: organic in essence, steeped in references that reach beyond the classic house/techno clichés, loose and fun, yet with the emotional core and depth of feeling worn proudly on its proverbial sleeve.
Today, we exclusively premiere the jozif original Rondezvous. With electro-fied vocals, striking chord progressions, and tropic-esque percussive elements, it is ultimately the crunchy, churning bassline which ties the track together in true jozif fashion. This one has a summertime feel, ready poolside or on the dance floor.
Waikiki pt. 2 is available 5 May 2015 on Culprit.
