Party Report: Do Not Sleep Ibiza
Do Not Sleep has become one of the most essential parties in Ibiza for a certain type of dancer. That dancer must like to get sweaty, go hard all night long, and not be bothered about being fluffed up with VIP service and anything fancy. The night deals in no frills house and tech from top selectors. But for lights and lasers, the focus is always on the music.
The resident for all this is Darius Syrossian, a famously straight up DJ and personality who always serves up chunky sets of upfront tunes. He has been the backbone of the night again this summer, and there have been many highlights. But it all has to come to a close and the final party was a great excuse for one more rave up.
Darius once again stepped up and had the faithful eating out of the palm of his hand. He dropped classics from the likes of Underworld and kept a highly energetic vie up for hours. In the Lab, a competition winner by the name of Furkan Kurt was playing and despite replacing and ill Alan Fitzpatrick he did well at serve up some real sizzles from the techno world. Reset Robot and Christian Burkhardt also played and veered from loopy house to bouncy tech with ease.
This is the first time this party has been at Sankeys but surely it will be back. It is a great night that mixes big names with break through DJs and is a nice friendly crowd. Dipping its toe into more techno waters this year was a great move and surely there will be more surprises next year. We can’t wait
