Marketing & Communications Intern

Start: September 5, 2016

We’re on the lookout for an eager student to join the DHA team as our new marketing and communications intern at the start of the upcoming academic year. If you strive for a career in online communications with an emphasis on Dance Music and entertainment please consider applying.

Responsibilities:
– Online PR
– Strategize, Develop & Implement positive initiatives across DHA platforms
– SEO best practices
– Social Media Marketing: Facebook, Soundcloud, Twitter, Youtube Instagram, Snapchat
– Update Web Content and provide Editorial content.
– Industry Research

Requirements:
– Enrolled at either HBO or University for the entire internship period
– Located in or around Amsterdam area.
– Command of the English language (native speakers are preferred but not required)
– Able to work independently and as part of a small team of creatives
A knowledge of underground dance music, its culture and history.
– Sharp and effective communication skills
– Working Knowledge of WordPress, HTML & Photoshop

Writers

Dance Music Journalists, professional or aspiring, are welcome to pitch editorial content on DHA. We’re always on the lookout for talented writers able to take on news items, interviews, event reports, and more (extra points for feature and/or op-ed content), either on a one off or in-house (based in Amsterdam, NL) basis. Build your portfolio by publishing content on an established, multi-faceted media platform. Applicants can reside anywhere in the world and come from variety of disciplines, including Media, Culture, Communications, and Journalism.

Requirements:
– A knowledge of underground dance music, its culture and history.
– Command of the English language (native speakers are preferred but not required)
– Present a consistent and original editorial voice, not shying away from controversy or criticism.
– Understanding of industry practices related to media content.
– Sharp and effective communication skills

Desired:
– Multimedia knowledge (video, coding, design, etc)
– Established network of industry or like-minded contacts
