Burning Man, the yearly festival of radical self-expression and partying in Nevada’s Black Rock, is getting bigger and more elaborate every year. If you thought last year was over the top, wait until you hear this; an art incubator is planning to take a full-sized Boeing 747 as an art car into the festival this year, sfist.com reports. Yes, a 747 – or as some call it – the Jumbo Jet.

Say what you want about the growth and arms race when it comes to venues/housing/art cars in Burning Man but at least it manages to produce some incredible outcomes. This year a group is planning to create the biggest art car to date. The group known as Big Imagination Foundation will be rolling in the playa with a Boeing 747. The iconic airplane, also known as the Jumbo Jet will be transformed from an airplane into an art car – or maybe the correct term here would be an art plane.

This isn’t the first time this crew has built amazing structures to Burning Man. For example, a team members was involved in building the Robot Heart, which is one of the most famous venues of Burning Man. The idea behind the Boeing 747 project is to create a party space that is open for all. In that sense this mega-project fights back the current trend of Burning Man becoming a playground for the entiteled by providing an open an equal space for all. Despite it being the biggest thing the festival has ever seen, it is also a reminder of what Burning Man is all about; partying in one of the most unique festivals in the world, where everyone no matter the bank account balance is on the same line.

Big Imagination Foundation is a not-for-profit incubator of large scale art projects. As such, it will need a bit of your help to make the 747-project happen. If you want to be a part of the project, you can make a donation to the foundation here.

Check the video of the project below. We’re looking forward to seeing this in reality!
