Today we thought we would catch up with Kevin Duane and get the scoop on all things Armada Deep. Here, you will find information on the label’s history, philosophy, releases and future. As you can probably tell by now, we are asking each respective label owner the same questions. With this approach, we hope these showcases will be as educational and informative (for all you aspiring label heads out there) as they are entertaining.
Also, this upcoming ADE, Armada Deep will present its showcase event. Lost Frequencies, one of the hottest DJs of the moment, has been confirmed for a headline spot. In addition to acclaimed deep house artists ANOTR, MÖWE, Pretty Pink, CALVO, Boy Kiss Girl, and Deepend, the Belgian hit machine (known for his worldwide hit singles ‘Are You With Me’ and ‘Reality’) are to perform at Armada Deep on Thursday October 15th in the illustrious Heineken Experience venue, which has never seen an Amsterdam Dance Event party before.

Born in New York but based in Amsterdam, the young twenty something runs his own label nights, manages both Subjekt Recordings and Armada Deep and is a regular and respected face on both the local and international scene.
“Our goal is to offer young upcoming artists, as well as established ones, to have a professional platform where they can totally be free in their creativity.”
What does Armada Deep add to the dance music spectrum?
Our goal is to offer young upcoming artists, as well established ones, to have a professional platform where they can totally be free in their creativity. This mindset leads to a lot of tracks that sound different than a lot of other records which can be cool underground music or tracks that have a strong crossover feel.
When did you first think about launching Armada Deep
From the moment we as Armada started we received so many amazing deep house records that we needed to set up a brand which would be clear for everyone and a flagship that we are a record label with a broad spectrum of musicality.
When did Armada Deep actually launch?
September 1st 2014 actually very short for the amount of record we have already released.
Story behind the Armada Deep name?
Simple and clear so marketing wise we wouldn’t have to explain what type of music we are working on.
What was the most difficult aspect of launching the label?
Ehm, I think the most difficult part was to educate and inform our own fan base that Armada is an overall quality music brand who is not putting genres in different boxes and we release overall good music.
