Sound

This year, the venue has decided to upgrade the sound system, resulting in a noticeable improvement. Working closely with dbnAudile, Printworks have installed a D&B Audiotechnik J and V series PA with V-SUB and J-INFRA as well as enhancing the audio quality at balcony level which provided a clear and dynamic sound experience throughout the venue.

John Talabot

Spanish electronic music producer and DJ John Talobot’s set was simply unforgettable; building energy with his distinctive combination of obscure vocal samples and deep house-grooves while syncing effortlessly with the venues lighting created a rare audio-visual experience.

Lighting

It’s a special moment when a venue as unique as Printworks in illuminated, highlighting all of its dark corners and visually stunning vintage print machines. The newly improved led fixtures and lighting rigs, also courtesy of dbnAudile, meant that the music was seamlessly accented by the lighting throughout the event.

Kerri Chandler

It would be impossible to talk about this event and not mention the headline set from deep house originator and MadTech label boss, Kerri Chandler. His inspired use of jazz samples mixed with the trademark deep Chicago house he is known for engaged the entire crowd, while finishing with the late Frankie Knuckle’s ‘The Whistle Song’ closed his set perfectly.

The Hydra Has Set The Bar High

The event as a whole was a great success, the venue looked and sounded amazing as well as cultivating a positive and inclusive atmosphere. The Hydra Opening Party has set the bar very high.
