We can’t stop bigging up the DGLT Festival in Amsterdam – after visiting last year while on tour with Wolf + Lamb and all the Crew Love gang we were blown away by it’s sheer size, professionalism and music curation, as well as its special care and attention to wider issues, and not just a purely money-focused ethos… very refreshing!
This week DGTL have added a special opening night, on Friday 3rd April, to the already impressive two-day festival program. This newly revealed extra starter event will take place in DGTL’s indoor base: the gigantic Scheepsbouwloods, which has become well known for being the venue for their annual ADE parties.
Scheepsbouwloods has already been the setting for some awesome parties – we were also at DGTL’s huge series of collaborative events at ADE last year, which included link-ups with Paradise (Hot Creations), Life And Death and Kompakt. These events were not only impressive because of the raw, industrial setting and killer underground line-ups, but because of the brilliant crowd and on point organisation… spot on!
The opening extravaganza on April 3rd will continue this high quality focus on house and techno, with five much respected artists. First up is one of UK’s most innovative artists Four Tet. Then they’ve signed up killer duo Mount Kimbie, who for this occasion will not be playing live but an actual DJ-set. Dark Sky will also be appearing and, last but not least, they have the three key figures behind Dekmantel, Dekmantel Soundsystem, who will be rocking an eclectic set, right after Amsterdam promise Young Marco has warmed-up the dancefloor with his blend of obscure disco and African house.
Sounds fantastic doesn’t it? So, you know what to do… book a ticket now! We’ve got ours and we cannot wait to get stuck into DGTL Festival 2015.
