With all the chaos in the world today, whether within the scene or not, it is often overlooked that people are, in fact, still doing good out there.
With that, we’re constantly on the lookout for stories of dance music doing its best to make things right in the world. Last week we spoke about London’s fabric, whose admirable new ticketing campaign offers asylum seeker relief funding. This week we look at DJ veteran Bushwacka (aka Just Be aka Matthew Benjamin) as he does his part.
Between 19 – 22 May, Bushwacka will cycle, hike, and kayak some 250 km across Ibiza, raising money for homeless charities both on the island and back home in London. The charities in question are Crisis and Caritas, respectively. So far the veteran DJ has raised €4,000 towards his €25,000 goal, of which you can donate via his GoFundMe page HERE
Of the project and the reasoning behind it, Bushwacka states: “I am a Londoner but now based in Ibiza. It especially upsets me in these places because there is so much money around, and so many properties and spaces that are vacant and can be used to provide shelter and warmth.”
