One of our highlights last year, outside of all the London partying we did, was DGTL Festival over there in Amsterdam. Taking place at the immense NDSM warehouse venue in the north of the city, DGTL really set the summer festival season off in the best way possible and we can’t wait for this year’s installment.
Which brings us to news of the organisers releasing the full run down of artists who’ll be appearing at this year’s knees-up… Yes, BIG NEWS… and lots of big artists to make the weekend go with a bang.
After last year’s epic curation we didn’t think it could get any better, but the DGTL gang have outdone themselves with this year’s line-up. DJ Koze, Ten Walls, Legowelt (live), Mind Against, Patrice Baumel, Maceo Plex, Art Department, Jamie Jones, David August (live), Mano Le Tough, Hot Since 82, Dixon, Recondite (live), Culoe De Song, Noir, Scuba, Tom Trago and many many more will be making appearances at the festival.
But DGTL isn’t just another big time festival with huge names on its line-up, the organisers are a very switched-on bunch who not only curate great events but also use the occasion to inspire people to try to make positive changes to the world around them.
This year, they’ve selected the theme of Renewable Energy as part of their ‘Revolution’ ethos and will be testing out numerous methods of renewable energy throughout the festival site all weekend. Not only will this serve to supply the festival with power generated in a positive way that benefits the environment, but it will also aim to enlighten festival-goers and demonstrate the ways in which the energy source can be utilised.
As part of this theme DGTL organisers are asking potential visitors to give them information (hints, tips, tricks and ideas) about renewable forms of energy. In exchange for DGTL will reward the supplier of the best bit of info by paying their power bill for one month. How many festivals tell you that?!
So, all in all, DGTL comes highly recommended from us. Be sure to catch the full Deep House London and Deep House Amsterdam crews there this May!
