Some know, and some don’t, that prolific British actor Idris Elba also doubles as a world touring DJ.

So much so, in fact, that Elba can stop by the talk show rounds and exclusively discuss DJing anecdotes. On Tuesday night, Elba made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, where he dished on his life long interest in DJing, starting out at 8 years old. Part of his story involved a particulalry cringeworthy set alongside Parliament legend Nile Rogers, where the guitar legend introduced him as the special guest at a Swiss event via the always dramatic, “Idris, Hit It!”. What ensued was a bevy of technical issues, and lot’s and lot’s of silence.

Idris Elba also discussed happier DJ times, however, even dropping shout outs to Brooklyn’s Output, where he performed on July 4 alongside Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers, as well as Glastonbury. Though for su, Elba’s brand of House Music may fall closer to big room than underground, his talents as a multi discipline artist are undeniable. And, if you haven’t seen his Elba’s amazing performance in last year’s Netflix original film ‘Beasts of No Nation, I urge you to do so.
