Detroit muralist Ouizi has been named the 2018 Movement Electronic Music Festival Artist-in-Residence.
Her large scale ornamental designs are inspired by folk, indigenous, and spiritual art, as well as patterns found in nature, and patterns from textiles and wallpaper. For Movement, in partnership with 1xRUN she will present a shrine-like installation at the amphitheater near the Pyramid Stage. Intended to be an open-ended experience, the immersive peace explores the relationship between music and spirituality.
Ouizi will be just a part of the three day, Detroit festival staple, which will see the likes of Maceo Plex, Helena Hauff, Laurent Garnier, KiNK, Avalon Emerson, DJ Stingray and tons more taking to Hart Plaze across its three days. As one of the longest-running dance music events in the world, committed to showcasing authentic electronic music, Movement Electronic Festival brings thousands from across the globe to the birthplace of Techno in celebration the city and its musical influence generations.
