The Master of Horror (and one hell of a dark, brooding synth composer) John Carpenter has increasingly been turning attentions to music as of late. First came the news of his first ever live performance and tour (dates include stops in Barcelona, Iceland, Manchester, and London), and now comes word of a new album.

Entitled, Lost Themes II, the album continues on its first edition’s theme: soundtracks to imaginary Carpenter films.

Though Lost Themes I was received by mixed reviews, the distinct Carpenter composition style has featured on many of his classic horror films: Assault on Precinct 13, Escape From New York, Halloween (with parts 1 & 3 of particular greatness), and The Thing.

Check out the themes from those films below. Lost Themes II is available for pre order and will be released on 15 April via Sacred Bones Records.
