Hailing from Bucharest in Romania, Soundopamine are a rising talent catching the attention of some big names in the industry. With early support for their latest EP from the likes of Fouk and Osunlade, Soundopamine are definitely one to watch.
Soundopamine has a richly musical sound that relies on jazzy chords and tribal rhythms to make its impact. The trio are acclaimed live performers who manage to combine a love of nature, birdsong and the sea with their passion for live keys, vocals, woodwind instruments and drum machines, influenced by artists such as Chez Damier, Theo Parrish, Moodymann, Faithless, Moon Boots and Nicolas Jaar.
The latest EP from Soundopamine entitled “Jupiter Wild” is a collection of occurrences and sensations that the trio experience in everyday life and is inspired by a muse that they refer to as Jupiter. The theory of the muse was popularised in Greek Mythology and is still one that many artists refer to today. The muse was known as a Goddess that artists, writers and academics drew their inspiration from and the concept still rings true for a lot of artist today who often find it difficult to pinpoint exactly where an idea or thought has come from.
Today, we exclusively premiere the instrumental remix of ‘Hold On feat. Nopame’. This version highlights the effortlessness of the groove and the brilliance of the sax riffs and rounds out what is a musically excellent package that also works on the floor.
“Jupiter Wild” is available 30 November on Architects of Paradise
