10. Robin Ordell – JC EP | Half Baked Records | 07-07-2014 |

Understated is the general vibe of this latest release from Half Baked Records, a platform launched by the party brand of the same name. Half Baked resident Robin Ordell threads together sublime percussion, delicate, whimsical melodies and warm, jazzy notes on ‘Kosma’, while the rest of the EP features the upbeat ‘Five Majors’, the languorous flow of ‘Nobody Loves Bishopsgate’ and a classy remix from Vera.

8. Terence:Terry & Hanfry Martinez – Cornelius Is Gaye EP | La Vie En Rose | ??-08-2014 |

Terence:Terry and Hanfry Martinez reunite for another killer package on La Vie En Rose, following their ‘Distraction Way’ EP in 2011. This time we get two tracks, which vary in style. ‘Cornelius Is Gaye’ is one of those tracks that is bound to find its way into Apollonia’s set, the groove is ridiculous and their use of vocals and numerous off the wall effects make it a little firecracker. ‘Evocation’ is just as groovy, with heavy drums and an almost tribal feel to it.

7. Frank & Tony #6 EP | Scissor And Thread | ??-07-14 |

Francis Harris and Anthony Collins can be always be relied upon to drop a deep, emotive EP. On this two-tracker they do exactly that, carrying on the sterling reputation of their Scissor And Thread label in the process. ‘What You Believe’ is a dreamy, laid back groover punctuated by a spoken-word sample. ‘Still Life’ is a bit more funky, though still with a relaxed pace.

6. Josh Butler – Be True | Cajual | 28-07-2014 |

One of our favourite young British producers is Mr. Josh Butler, he’s a super nice guy and a great talent, too. As proven by this forthcoming release, which has been snapped up by Cajmere’s own Cajual Records! Soulful, bouncing and coming with a killer vocal, this is an absolute bomb. We can’t wait for this one to hit the streets.

5. FCL – Can We Try | We Play House | Released |

It’s been a while since FCL took our scene by storm with the ubiquitous ‘It’s You’ (which is being re-released with a fresh remix package this month), and finally they’re back with another vocal-led stormer. ‘Can We Try’ will provide those euphoric moments that every dancefloor demands, particularly during festival time. Deetron works his usual magic with two devastating remixes. Hot package!

4. Various Artists – New Love Vol.5 | Love Not Money | 07-07-2014 |

One of the north’s very best young labels is Love Not Money. The label is run by Leeds-based artist Luke Pompey and focuses on contemporary house music, primarily geared towards the dancefloor and always supportive of new talent. This is LNM’s fifth various artists compilation and features a whole host of up and coming producers, which is fantastic. Excellent music from start to finish.

Bristol-based duo Behling & Simpson get their hands on Kerri Chandler’s classic ‘Heaven’ (featuring Christopher McCray) and give it the remix treatment twice over for Kerri’s own Madhouse imprint. Both mixes are exquisite, well-produced and summery – perfect for the weather we’re having right now and sure to brighten up any dancefloor it gets played to.

2. Benoit & Sergio – Your Darkness EP | Visionquest | 28-07-2014 |

Two guys who have been a little bit quiet of late, though still on the road touring like demons, Benoit & Sergio return with a great little two-track EP for Visionquest. The vibe is slightly melancholy, with echoes of eighties synth pop and an absorbing, emotive feel throughout. Gorgeous music from one of the duos that really made us fall in love with this music.
