Oli Furness’s love for house music started in the 90’s during the start of the warehouse scene in Manchester, where the sounds of Detroit and Chicago filtered through the UK. Fast forward a decade and Oli has built up a strong collection of analogue hardware and is now steadily building a highly praised reputation for his warm, soulful tracks that embrace the origins of old school house with a forward thinking, modern production approach.
Next to being an artist and producer, Oli is the owner of the ‘Music Is Love’ label on which the Dutch boys ‘New Jack City’ took care of the first release. New Jack City’s release featuring a remix of MIL reached the nr.1 position on Juno in the Deep House category and also in the overall top 100. Due to its popularity, the release has been reprinted multiple times and also the second release of the label has reached the nr.1 position at Juno in no time, which is an amazing accomplishment. The third release will feature a remix from the famous NY Stomp, so lots of good things are coming for Music Is Love!
Last year Oli Furness made a remix for a track called ‘The Motion’, from one of our other headliners ‘Kezla’ and got support from DJ’s like Sneak, Bloody Mary and Groove Armada, to name just a few. Oli Furness will also have a new release out on Nervous, which is coming soon. His new EP on ‘nodoughmusic’ is a vinyl release only and features remixes from James Welsh and the funky Daniel Solar & Andi De Luxe. This will be available in al the high end vinyl shops in April.
Enjoy his mix and come see him play in Amsterdam on the 13th of April at our 1 Year Anniversary together with UK Sounds.
