Prolific Techno Producer Vince Watson To Participate in Netherlands TEDxEde

Reflecting back on a career spanning the best part of two decades many would be content on resting on their laurels, Vince Watson on the other hand is just getting warmed up.

The Glaswegian producer announced a self-renovation just over a year ago, claiming to be at the beginning of his career regardless of releasing his first piece of electronic music on Dave Angel’s Rotation imprint back in 1995.

Any ignorant person would call this nonsense, but with the past couple of years boasting releases on the likes of Bedrock, Cocoon, Poker Flat, Planet E and Ovum Recordings they would have no leg to stand on. Josh Wink’s Ovum imprint is particularly significant, as Vince was tapped to provide the imprints 250th release as they celebrated their 20th Anniversary – an honour and privilege that the Scotsman was more than qualified to do.

In 2015, Vince’s debut release on Osunlade’s Yoruba Records topped the charts for 6 weeks solid. Carl Craig and Josh Wink both remixes his tracks recently, and he has EPs coming later this year on New York House labels Nervous and King Street.

Now based in Amsterdam, Vince’s live shows are in demand around the world, and as a former Tresor Berlin resident, his DJ sets are also now highly requested. With an unfaltering passion and determination, there is little doubt that this established luminary’s career is yet to reach its grandest peak as its second chapter unfolds.

On 28 October, Vince Watson will take part of the 2015 TEDxEde ‘Wanted’ event. This invitation-only event is independently organized under TED-license and will provoke audiences to think differently, share ideas and broaden horizons.

Just before the event, we stopped by Vince’s Amsterdam studio to have a chat and a tour ahead of the TEDxEde event. Over the course of our time we spoke on everything from his musicality to the ressurgence of analog to Glasgow and Amsterdam. Below will find a quick video highlighting our time with Vince.
