Mix #194 By Andhim

Clocking in on the DHA Mixtape series are the Andhim boys from Cologne. Andhim’s sound is self-described as soulful ‘super house’ that is organically passionate in detail. To say the least – that’s exactly what they provided for us here today. It was only until Spring 2010 that the duo began publicly releasing material. Prior to that, the duo flew under the radar, zeroing in on their studio work. What followed was a unique articulation of house-driven constructions, with grassroots that flow from Hip-Hop, Turntablism, and Jazz. Their individuality and artistry has earned them a place on labels such as Get Physical, Monaberry, Terminal M, ... Read more

Snowbombing Podcast By Groove Armada

They combined the styles of house and trip hop with alluring vocals and the element of Andy’s trombone into what became a decade of their reign throughout the charts. They were one of the first, among Faithless, Moby, and Massive Attack, who established a dance music act playing with a live set up, and what is now widely exercised by a variety of big contemporary electronic music artists. Festival Report: Pleinvrees Heroes

In the days leading up to last weekend, the stacked festival landscape saw itself somewhat worried with heavy rains in the forecast. Rain is something that seemingly comes with the territory here in Amsterdam, where only the heaviest of downpours can cancel the show (see July’s Welcome to the Future). See also: Bad Weather Conditions Get Festivals Cancelled Though the field was muddy, the skies were grey, and temperatures low, the Pleinvrees faithful were given a spot of luck when Friday seemed to take the brunt of the bad weather leaving Saturday (relatively) dry.
