Coming off their milestone 5th edition last year, Dimensions Festival is back in 2017 with another lineup of diverse underground music stars. Once again celebrate Kingsday with Oranjebloesem Festival! For the fourth year, Oranjebloesem will provide the perfect alternative to Amsterdam’s crowded city center events, with a combination of live acts and underground electronic programming across 4 stages. Party Report: REC Festival

Over this past MTV European Music Awards weekend, Rotterdam’s central district was transformed into a hub of open format music as REC Festival celebrated its inaugural edition. Nestled within a slew of venues within the industrial Dutch city, the venues of Transport, Annabel, BAR, Perron, and HipHopHuis brought over 50 acts from around the world over the course of tow days, all leading up to Sunday’s massive European Music Awards (but, we’ll just skip that part in this review). When The Strange Sounds From Beyond Take Over…

June 26 saw the Strange Sounds From Beyond emitted via three stages in Amsterdam’s Noordlicht. The likes of Young Marco, Gilles Peterson, Omar Souleyman, Antal, Ata Kak, and more brought intelligent dance music of all descriptions on a day the dance music establishment (Awakenings) otherwise would have monopolized. Instead, some 3,000 (or so) of the city’s most eclectic party animals danced the day away to the sounds of Syria, Africa, Greece, USA, and way more in a veritable orgy of world sounds. A New Amsterdam Festival Exploring Strange Sounds From Beyond
