Awakenings Festival Is Looking For Your Favorite Techno Tracks

In celebration of 20 years of Techno, Awakenings is asking you for your favorite tracks. Choose from over 1000 tracks selected by journalists Atze de Vrieze (3voor12) and René Passet (DJBroadcast), and DJs Joris Voorn, 2000 and One and Bart Skils, with the result published in the book ‘Awakenings – 20 Years of Techno’, an almost 600 page retrospective being put together by the makers of the dance bible ‘Mary Go Wild’. Awakenings Taps Paul Kalkbrenner, Maceo Plex, The Black Madonna For 20th Anniversary Festival

With over 110 artists spread over 8 stages, Awakenings Festival once again becomes the largest outdoor techno festival in the world. Over the 24-25 June weekend, recreational area Spaarnwoude Houtrak will be dedicated to Techno in all its diversity. Taped Artifact label boss Kevin Arnemann is ending 2016 on a climax with the launch of his brand new live set. The twenty-four-year-old DJ has been spinning records since 2008, including the Awakenings Festival mainstage in 2013 at barely 21 years old. When The Strange Sounds From Beyond Take Over…

June 26 saw the Strange Sounds From Beyond emitted via three stages in Amsterdam’s Noordlicht. The likes of Young Marco, Gilles Peterson, Omar Souleyman, Antal, Ata Kak, and more brought intelligent dance music of all descriptions on a day the dance music establishment (Awakenings) otherwise would have monopolized. This past weekend, perhaps lost amongst the behemoth that is Awakenings, Amsterdam saw an interesting and diverse festival event. An intimate gathering of eclectic tribalism, Strange Sounds From Beyond descended onto Amsterdam Noord’s Noordlicht space on Sunday, June 26 with three stages of DJs Selectors from around the globe. Curating these stages with musicians from Greece, Syria, UK, NYC, and more, was the renegade trio of Outsiders Festival, Red Light Radio, and The Rest is Noise, each bringing their own respective approach to the event’s sound and feel. Awakenings Extends To Five Nights For ADE 2016

For the first time there will be five nights of Awakenings in the Gashouder over the course of 2016’s Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). It all kicks off on 19 October when Len Faki, who for the first time, together with Awakenings, will presents a self-curated program called Figure Night, which will include the likes of Blawan, Cleric, Jeroen Search LIVE, Octave One LIVE, Rodhad and Roman Poncet.
