Adriatique are two self-proclaimed brothers from Zurich who found a musical connection back in 2008 when they were still working as solo artists. Their musical bond grew fast and led them to release on esteemed labels as Diynamic, Culprit LA, Hive Audio and Cityfox. Their remix of ‘Honey’ became one of the summer anthems of 2011 and slowly hurled them into international fame. Slowly indeed, because Adrian and Adrian aren’t about exploding onto the scene like others do. They slowly creep upon the public with effortlessly cool and well-timed releases, gradually building a long-lasting place in the upper regions of ... Read more

Review: Shall Ocin – Conception EP

On December 16th the renowned Culprit label will drop something that roams in the heavier, more rugged deep house territories. We checked if Shall Ocin’s Conception EP delivers the goods for LA-based imprint. Argentinean native Nicolas Abalos also known as Paneoh who resides in Barcelona returns on Culprit with his youngest alter ego, Shall Ocin. This pseudonym has been good for about a dozen of releases of which his funky  ‘Movin On’ on Leftroom was picked up and charted. Also his remix for Maxxi Soundsystem on Maceo Plex’s Ellum Audio cannot be put aside. It granted him a place in ... Read more

The French/American duo Benoit & Sergio have a fresh EP that’s lined up to be released October first, by the LA-based Culprit imprint. For the label’s 39th EP release, the boys have cooked up Adjustments. Consisting of two tracks that seem  very different at first, but actually fit right in  their poppy, avant-garde production style.   The Adjustment EP is the result of a fruitful relationship between the two and Culprit’s head honcho, Droog. Sharing a passion for new wave, Paul Simon and Talking Heads, it’s no wonder this EP doesn’t comprise your everyday, run-of-the-mill dance records. So let’s start ... Read more

Review: Burnski & MANIK – YJG

MANIK and Burnski, two names that (should) ring bells with deephouse enthusiasts all over the world. These two producers are pioneers of the new deep house sound. With an unmistakeable feel for groove they have delivered another masterpiece with ''Yellow Jacket Girl'', shortened to ''YJG''. It is MANIK's fourth release already on Culprit LA, making him a true resident producer for the prestigious LA-based label. And even though Burnski never released anything of his own on Culprit, his appraised remix of Subb-An's ''What I Do'' lifted moods to higher levels all summer and his previous collaborations with MANIK pretty much ... The third podcast out of a series we do in collaboration with DGTL Festival. After our dutch pride Prunk, who’s mix was a massive succes with over 15.000 plays, we now have the Venezuelan duo Fur Coat. A nice mix to cool down from that amazing first festival of the year. You may think Fur Coat is a quiet new act in the scene but the reality is quite different. Even before the Venezuelan pair met at a house party in 2004, Israel Sunshine was building a solid reputation as a DJ, and Sergio Muñoz was successfully producing his own sound ... Mix #049 by Adriatique

Adriatique, the two guys from Zürich are both named Adrian and we were wondering, is it a coincidence or was it meant to be that they are both named Adrian? We definitely believe it had to be this way. The guys started off with music just like everyone else, by trying several instruments and scratching on grandfather’s turntable. They started as two solo artists but as the two Adrian’s found a mutual connection with their interpretations in music they became DJ and production partners in 2008. Adriatique is featured on highly respected labels like Culprit LA, Supernature, Off Recordings, Cityfox, ... Read more
