Carl Cox Curated Babylon Festival Returns To Australian Countryside For 2018

Set deep inside Victoria, Australia’s countryside, Babylon Festival returns next February for its second showing of music, art and culture. The three day camping event takes place on February’s final weekend, 23 – 25, and will feature local and international artists of all descriptions. The event is curated by Babylon legend, Carl Cox, who will return to the Main Stage for another Burning man-inspired set. Review: Eastern Electrics Festival

Over the last couple of years Eastern Electrics has evolved from its warehouse-based roots, into a fully-fledged large-scale festival event. Last year they were maybe a little too ambitious, throwing a three-day event with camping options at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire with a ridiculously big line-up. It ended up backfiring in a major way with the company behind Eastern Electrics going into liquidation after the event. Frankie Knuckles Passes Away At Age 59

Frankie Knuckles, the pioneering Chicago DJ/producer known as “The Godfather of House Music” passed away Monday at the age of 59, while still living in Chicago and being widely credited with helping to define the post-disco sound that came to be known as House. It’s not clear how Knuckles died, but a statement is expected to be released on Tuesday. Knuckles was born in New York City, he first spun as a disco DJ in the early 1970s, together with childhood friend and garage pioneer Larry Levan at the Continental Baths.
