Boiler Room Breakdowns: Skream B2B Disclosure

It’s been awhile since our last Boiler Room Breakdown, so we thought we’d return with a classic. It’s been over three years now, since that fateful night when Skream and Disclosure joined forces in a poorly lit hotel suite but many YouTubers still love to revisit the moment over and over and over again. Aron Sohilait for one; “2016 and still listening” whilst Pat Sty comments; “it’s 2016……. still a legendary set.” But what is it that gives this particular Boiler Room session such replay value? The mix itself, whilst far from technically perfect, is a wild selection of musical ... Read more

Disclosure Fans Not Amused With Their New Track

Two days ago, sibling duo Disclosure began a social media marketing tease of a new album.  What started with an Instagram post featuring a fully focused “Bang That” wallpapered MacBook sitting atop studio gear, eventually did indeed lead to the Soundcloud release of said track (with an official release on Annie Mac’s  BBC Radio show in between).  But, what the internet gives the internet also taketh away, and it seems like a healthy dose of the duo’s fanbase is highly unsatisfied with the latest offering. As a track, “Bang That” does seem rather standard as, perhaps, the boys have been ... Read more

Report: A Weekend In Ibiza

Although technically not over yet, summer seemed far away in Amsterdam the last weeks of August. And even though I had my fair share of festivals over the last couple of months, I couldn’t think of a better destination than Ibiza for a nice combo of beach and beats. The adventure started Friday afternoon and standing right behind Ferry Corsten when boarding the aircraft left no room for error this was the right flight. At the Ibiza airport big billboards invited me to come and see shows of Avicii, Afrojack and Steve Aoki, but unfortunately for them I had other ... Read more

“Well obviously I get them all but as I’ve got a girlfriend I have to pass them to Andy, cos I’m nice like that. [soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/disclosuremusic/when-a-fire-starts-to-burn” comments=”true” auto_play=”false” color=”E40045″ width=”100%” height=”81″] When a fire starts to burn, it starts to spread. And in the case of Disclosure, it has spread like a midsummer wildfire. A few years ago nobody had heard from youngsters Guy and Howard. Nowadays they are one of the hottest house producers the UK and perhaps even the world has to offer. And as of June the 3rd, they have released their debut album ”Settle”. It made me curious: these guys have mastered the art of making powerful house & garage-like productions, but will that make them great album compilers as well? ... Read more
