Full Premiere: Benotmane – Beyond (Karmon Remix)

Karmon came into contact with electronic music in 2003 by experimenting with different styles and setups to mild success, but wasn’t until early 2012 when the artist Karmon was truly born. Since then, Karmon has found a meteoric rise, with original productions, remixes, and gigs spanning the gamut of the dance music elite. Since honing the Karmon sound in ’12, it was a matter of months until top chart productions were coming out of the studio. Starting out with his debut release Turning Point on Sintope digital and then followed by Wowshit on Diynamic. By that summer, Solomun had already been championing Karmon’s tracks and soon  asked him ... Read more

Review: Solomun – Yes, No, Maybe EP

A new Solomun. With Mladen being the headmaster of the star-team that is called Diynamic, it is only logical that every move this man makes is looked at with extra care. And so having to review his new ''Yesnomaybe'' EP, the 65th release on the label, was going to be a challenge. Because a logical consequence of Diynamic's becoming so big as a platform would be that music released there would be increasingly commercial and perhaps even cheap. Furthermore, looking at the course this Hamburg-based label has set out, it seemed to me that this release would have indie/disco-house written ... Read more

Review: David August – Times (Album)

Probably the most challenging thing to do as a producer is to release your first album. Being as young as the 22-year old David August doesn’t make things easier at all. When listening to his debut-album makes you wonder if this guy has ever been young at all, as it could easily be an album made by a battered war-veteran. Maybe that’s why the title ‘’Times’’ is so well-chosen: these tracks somehow feel ... Read more
