DHA MIX #250 By Dino Lenny

A producer that isn’t shy in laying his eggs in different baskets, Dino Lenny delivers us a deceptively mellow yet anticipatory mix that embodies a delightfully dark feel to it. Dino Lenny started out as many young, wide-eyed & willing DJ’s do, performing on a local radio station. Being prohibited to the boundaries of the local scene he decided to relocate and venture back to home turf in the U.K. The bright potential that London boasts enticed the young  mixer to trial what the city could offer and he made great utilisation of the crowd available. His earlier success will ... Read more

Maceo Plex Hosts a New Years’ Day Party in London

On the banks of the River Thames, in the capital of Brexit (unwillingly), today’s underground dance music hero comes to rescue the city’s nightlife with a helluva New Year’s Day party.  2016 is definitely Maceo’s year. This year the main man of Ellum has had several successful projects, including his performance at the ADE under the Rijksmuseum passage, or breaking the world record with 10 sets in 24 hours. But the most consistent one of all was his Mosaic party series in Ibiza, that brought a fresh take to the island’s dance scene, thus no suprirse that in the face of London’s nightlife facing turbulent future, ... ADE 2016 Report: Maceo Plex @ Rijksmuseum

Rembrandt, Vermeer, and…Maceo! Yep, Ellum’s main man shut down the bike passage of Amsterdam’s world famous Rijksmuseum with a very special Amsterdam Dance event performance this past Friday. Set as the week’s experience gradually reaches its peak, the early evening set played directly into the city’s up for it after work crowd, taking some 2,000 revellers to places their normal happy hour drink activities could only dream off. Conceived and executed as a collaborative effort between Maceo, Audio Obscura, and KPN, the state of the art production value (for better or worse) transformed the space into a light-columned sea of ... For ADE 2016, Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum will no longer just house it’s famed Rembrandt and Vermeer masterworks, as on 21 October, Audio Obscura brings Maceo Plex (USA) to the museum’s world famous bike passage. This will be the first time Rijksmuseum has collaborated with an electronic music artist in its rich history, very much matching the museum’s vision to let visitors experience art in exciting new ways. Despite its tradition as being a house of the Dutch Golden Age, music is also an important cornerstone to the museum, not only due to the large collection of instruments it houses, but also ... Interview: Bambook

Sweden, a country known for its amazing sensibility for design, has been growing a muscle in another form of art of the modern times – house music. The result is evident in its bulky juicy list of house music artists: Alex Boman, Ida Engberg, Petter Nordkvist, Kornél Kovács among many. Another addition to the portfolio goes by the name Bambook, who we had a chat with on Sweden, the dynamics of being a duo, family and, of course, the importance of album artwork. Bambook is a duo, consisting of Eiad Sayegh and Hannes Netzell, said to be no strangers to the house scene. Starting off in 2011 on labels like Circus Recordings, Global ... Read more

Minimal Effort Podcast By Agoria

Sébastien Devaud, aka Agoria, entered the world of electronic dance music at a peculiar moment in time. Unlike the first generation of techno producers, he’s too young to have been actively listening to early 80’s electronic pop by groups such as Depeche Mode or New Order. But unlike younger DJs and musicians, he’s been exposed to house and techno more or less since the start of these genres.  On the 31st of October, Agoria will be headlining Minimal Effort’s Halloween celebration in LA. Based in Los Angeles, prominent event organizer Minimal Effort will be returning this Halloween on a mission ... Read more
