Interview: M.A.N.D.Y.

In the Midst of ADE our editor Steve Rickinson met up with the guys of M.A.N.D.Y., Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer to discuss their very first album release in 15 years – “Double Fantasy”. The two decades spanning career of two childhood friends bought for the love of music, lead them to a place of recognition and influence just as much their sensuous sets as their involment in the Get Physical label. Thus it is no suprprise, when it takes 15 years for the fist album to ripe for artists of this caliber, that it is PROPER good. Reminiscent of a film score, the album contains 12 tracks highlighting M.A.N.D.Y.’s diverse style ranging from house ... Read more

Interview: Bambook

Sweden, a country known for its amazing sensibility for design, has been growing a muscle in another form of art of the modern times – house music. The result is evident in its bulky juicy list of house music artists: Alex Boman, Ida Engberg, Petter Nordkvist, Kornél Kovács among many. Another addition to the portfolio goes by the name Bambook, who we had a chat with on Sweden, the dynamics of being a duo, family and, of course, the importance of album artwork. Bambook is a duo, consisting of Eiad Sayegh and Hannes Netzell, said to be no strangers to the house scene. Starting off in 2011 on labels like Circus Recordings, Global ... Read more

Free Your Mind Podcast #004 By Wankelmut

It was a fortunate coincidence that lead to Wankelmut’s breakthrough back in 2011. It was his birthday and the Berlin DJ added his touch to his bootleg of Asaf Avidan‚ “Reckoning Song (One Day)”. As most already know, the title conquered the charts; reaching number one in several European countries, was the most downloaded Beatport track of 2012, and was viewed over 150 million times on YouTube. But Jacob Dilssner aka Wankelmut is way more than this one track. In 2012 he started working with Get Physical Music and soon after he released his next big hit‚ “My Head Is A Jungle” with Australian singer and songwriter ... Read more

Full Premiere: Bambook & Mennie feat. Cari Golden – Slip Away (Original Mix)

Put Swedish Bambook and Italian Mennie in the same room. Spice it up with vocals perfectly executed by Los Angeles based Cari Golden and you have “Slip Away”, their new collaborative creation. The original title-track is a smooth and purveys a summery vibe with a dark edge, in part because of the dominant and ominous bass line that holds the suspense throughout the cut. Bambook, consisting of Eiad Sayegh and Hannes Netzell, are no strangers to the house scene having released a superb EP ‘What’s The Use’, also with Cari Golden on vocals, that was heavily supported by Maceo Plex. As well ... Read more
