Hideout Festival Podcast By CamelPhat

We pretty much don’t know anything about CamelPhat – not where they came from, what records they first bought, names, ages…nothing! What we do know is…they are a duo…and they don’t leave the house without masks…and they rarely do interviews. Since their first release in 2010, though, they have counted the likes of Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Danny Howard, Gorgon City, Groove Armada, Huxley, MK, Pete Tong, Riva Starr, Sasha and Tiga as supporters, frequently tinging their sets with the mysterious duo’s emotion-rich, sub-soaked, silky-synth sounds. Now, after traveling the world over, they will descend onto Croatia’s Zrce Beach for ... Read more

Report: Straf_Werk @ Scheepsbouwloods – 2 December

The water’s got an icy gloom, you can see your breath and you’re waiting impatiently for the ferry arrive to take you across the water. Usually the concept of being freezing & anticipating my night out would deter me slightly, but all these factors added to the excitement. 95% of people are all in the same boat, pardon the pun, then a mass herd of people eagerly scuttle off the ferry to the entrance of STRAF_WERK – Scheepsbouwloods. For some reason I didn’t expect the venue to be as big or as cool as it was, despite the fact each ... Read more

Interview: Shadow Child

A name that has revelled in the limelight since his involvement with record label Dirtybird, Shadow Child is no stranger to the fast evolving house music industry. Boasting impeccable production skills his first dominant release ‘String Thing’, fell into the hands of Eats Everything and Claude Von Stroke, back in 2012. For Shadow Child his production simply began as a side project, but he quickly adapted a distinctive sound, full of cluttering bass and big drops. The uniqueness of his creative sound has landed Shadow Child some huge collaborative productions, alongside Ben Pearce, Huxley and Bodhi. He continues his involvement ... Read more

Snowbombing Podcast By Groove Armada

Millennials grew up with their time-abiding melodies. They combined the styles of house and trip hop with alluring vocals and the element of Andy’s trombone into what became a decade of their reign throughout the charts. They were one of the first, among Faithless, Moby, and Massive Attack, who established a dance music act playing with a live set up, and what is now widely exercised by a variety of big contemporary electronic music artists. Preview: STRAF_WERK Warehouse Closing feat. Martinez Brothers, Joris Voorn

Straf_Werk decided to firmly disregard New Year’s Eve again, by hosting a cheeky banger of a party the previous day, promising visitors to be slightly hung-over even before New Year’s has set in. For their biggest closing party yet, Straf_werk moves to a new venue, the great Scheepsbouwloods, with a line up worth the counterweight of the New Year hype, including Joris Voorn, Martinez Brothers, Tensnake, Huxley, Richy Ahmed and more.  The decision to celebrate the year with a Closing party on December 30th was made by the Straf_Werk team consciously three years ago, since they found New Year’s Eve “the most over-hyped, expensive, anti-climactic wash out of ... Being born in Frankfurt is not such a bad omen if you want to make electronic music. 26 years later and after a few Motown Records and hip hop influences and a 6-month traineeship at Cocoon it is safe to say that the advantage of the birth city has paid off for Emanuel Satie. Fascinated by artists like Luciano, Sven Väth and Ricardo Villalobos, Emanuel initially starts as a DJ. He moves between house and techno – always ahead, always deep and with groove and soul. The ...
