Pete Tong Calls For Global Appreciation Of Electronic Music Legacy

Last Friday, 10 April 2015, veteran DJ and host of long-running dance music radio programme The Essential Mix (amongst others), Pete Tong, penned an interesting opinion editorial in Billboard magazine.  In it, Tong (writing for a primarily American audience) highlighted the rapid rise of Electronic Music, particularly within a “mainstream” acceptance context. In the wake of the annual gathering of Hollywood royalty known as the Academy Awards, we thought it would be fun to have a little Oscars special to look at a handful of films who have utilized electronic music as a prominent element in either setting, soundtrack or scene.
