Premiere: Way Out West – Set My Mind (Maxxi Soundsystem Remix)

Coming off the hotly anticipated new album from Way Out West, ‘Set My Mind’ marks its second single. Now, with three brand new remixes off the track, the Nick Warren/Jody Wisternoff project gets the exclusive premiere treatment courtesy of Maxxi Soundystem‘s stellar interpretation. With releases on the likes of Hypercolour and Futureboogie, Maxxi Soundsystem provides his trademark melodic take on the remix. Today we present Vol I. of Jeudi’s brand new series “The Remixes”. The series will showcase remixes of some of the imprint’s prior released works. For this first edition Jeudi has gathered some great contributors for remix duty, including Maxxi Soundsystem, who has reshaped label head Doctor Dru’s Proper Lane, MANIK on Cheap Picasso’s Don’t Play Around, Camea on Bambook’s Tow The Line, and, the premiere in question, Quina’s reinterpretation of Bambook gem Träume. PillowTalk is a three ­piece live band hailing from San Francisco, manipulating pop melodies, classic R&B, soul and boogie into the loose rhythms of house music. The trio consists of Sammy D on vocals, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Williams’ dexterous guitar and keys and Mikey Tello on the synth.
