What Dance Did Right: Loco Dice Teams With South African Youth Center

Citing youth centers in his native Düsseldorf as a major source of influence in his youth, Desolat’s Loco Dice has now teamed up with nonprofit Bridges for Music. The aim of Bridges for Music is to raise funds for South Africa’s Kliptown Youth Center, which acts as a safe haven for disadvantaged youth by partnering with key industry figures (Richie Hawtin, Luciano, and Black Coffee are all ambassadors of the charity). Black Coffee was born in Durban in KwaZulu Natal and grew up in the Eastern Cape in Mthatha, before moving back to Durban to study music at Natal Tech where he majored in Jazz. Then, chosen as one of two South African participants in the Red Bull Music Academy in 2003 jump-starting him into the South African DJ scene.
