Paradise City Festival: The 3 Best Sets

Paradise City is perfectly named: the intimate festival in Belgium took place from June 29th to July 1st at the stunning Castle domain of Ribaucourt in Belgium. The place is surrounded by little lakes meaning that you get about on bridges made form plastic barrels. There is forest all around, lots of open green space to laze about on and rivers to chill by. The whole festival has a cosy, intimate feel making it perfect for those who like things a little more boutique. With killer sets from the likes of Amp Fiddler & Tony Allen, Henrik Schwarz (Live), Joris ... Read more

Premiere: Landside – Chains (Axel Boman Remix)

Studio Barnhus comrade Axel Boman returns with a fresh remix of Landside’s Chains EP, a melting pot of dub vibes, breaking leads, and melancholic vocals. Landside is the collaboration between Italian producers Hunter/Game and the Icelandic band Kúra. Their two tracks ‘Chains’ and ‘Desert Lake’ were designed to take the listener through obscured paths of ‘a new world’, whereupon after moving through uncharted lands – the listener finds themselves experiencing a mirage of a desert lake. The idea draws from the deeper vibes and melancholic ambience of Kúraʼs reflective, often dubby moods, along with a groove reminiscent of Hunter/Game‘s dance-floor roots. Premiere: Von Spar – Breaking Formation (Axel Boman Remix)

Barnt and Axel Boman are opening up the round of remixes for German electronica band Von Spar’s latest album “Streetlife”. Both artists were free to choose which of the track they place their unmistakable stamp. Axel Boman (Studio Barnhus / Pampa) has transformed Von Spar’s song “Breaking Formation” into a Balearic Soft Acid ballad, while Barnt – long a companion and close friend of the band – uncovers epic dimensions on “Duvet Days” and expands the song to almost ten minutes. It is Boman’s excellent re-interpretation of Breaking Formation that we’re exclusively premiering. Von Spar’s “Streetlife – Remixes, Pt. 1” will be released on ... Read more
