Two New Amsterdam Venues Obtained 24-hour Licences

The initiative of the Amsterdam’s Night Mayor institution to put a 24-hour economy running has been showing results. Two more locations – Nachtlab (Warehouse Elementenstraat) and Ven Amsterdam – joins the city’s exclusive 24-hour licence club. In total now there are seven venues in Amsterdam who can determine their opening hours: De School, Radion, Tolhuistuin, Overkant, A’dam-Toren, De Koning Party Events and DOKA. In the beginning of May this year, Amsterdam’s municipality opened a new round of applications for obtaining the 24-hour licence. As the Nachtburgemeester claims, two initiatives stood out most – Ven Amsterdam and Nachtlab. Dekmantel Festival Unveils Full Opening Concerts Program

Serving as the opening night extravaganza to 2016’s Dekmantel Festival, the newly expanded Opening Concerts program includes acts such as avant-garde electronica pioneer Cabaret Voltaire, Brazilian jazz-trio Azymuth, a 20-year celebration of Raster-Noton, and Nine Inch Nails collaborator Alessandro Cortini. The announcement of these additional acts comes after February’s, which already mentioned an exclusive live-show from James Holden, afro-beat legend Tony Allen, as well as Shackleton & Ernesto Tomasini.
