German DJ and producer Michael Baumann aka SoulPhiction premieres with a track released by Music For Freaks, a British label with a roster that includes artists such as Thugfucker, Phil Weeks, Doc Martin, Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Mark Farina, Soul Clap, and others of a similar calibre. Emerging from the late 80s Hip-Hop/Boogie/Funk-Era, Soulphiction started his career by spinning as a hip-hop DJ at local jams in the Stuttgart area. We’re happy to have one of our favourite Amsterdam acts back for another mix: Detroit Swindle. Detroit Swindle was formed in 2011 by Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets. The duo started 0ut for dubious reasons, namely when Lars – who was programming a few nightclubs in Amsterdam – had to fire Maarten for playing too much underground music.
