Top 10 International Festivals 2015
We have lined up the top 10 international festivals for July, August & September. Because there is just too much going on outside the Netherlands during these months Where can we find you?
Our first entry in this Top 10 is one of the most popular festivals in Europe. So far more than 2,5 million people from over 60 countries around the world have visited it, and was officially proclaimed the ‘Best Major European Festival’ At the EU Festival Awards 2014. Its location at the Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia, is considered by many as one of the best festival venues worldwide.
With just two editions, Sonus Festival has established itself as one of the world’s finest summer techno events. The organisation behind the event is the team of Time Warp and that might explain why the festival established itself so fast. Sonus is one of Europe’s most beautiful holiday destinations combined with Time Warp’s expertise of putting together incredible nights all over the world.
Every year in July the hottest newcomers and international stars grace the stages below the breathtaking coal mining diggers at the City of Iron near Berlin. The lightning makes this venue a truly special place during long nights with artists like Bonobo, Culoe De Song, David August, DJ Tennis and Siriusmodeselektor. Melt! is also known for breaking the boundaries between soft and loud, electronic and rock, mainstream and indie. A feast for every kind of music lover.
kaZantip is one of the longest and most unusual electronic music festivals worldwide. It’s an imaginary place where you can escape all problems and struggles for a limited time during your summer holiday and dance to hundreds of DJ’s in a resort which is of almost 100.000 m² situated directly on the beautiful black sea. The festival is best known for its special philosophy. The area can only be entered and exited through one gate and every year it symbolically proclaims itself as an independent “republic”, with a government lead by a queen, its own foreign ministry and plenty of other ministers (ministers of happiness, dance and rave, intellect, visuals and illusions). Of course there are also plenty of laws
#06 | 31 July – 02 August | Nachtdigital | Tickets | Bungalodorf Olganitz, Germany |
Nachtdigital is a smaller scale festival, happening annually for almost two decades now. It’s held at a GDR-era resort within the limits of a small eastern German town. Nachtdigital’s reputation grew significantly in the past few years, thanks to a smart booking policy and high production standards. This year DJs like Ben UFO, Prosumer, Barnt and Joy Orbison are part of the line up of the festival. But since the capacity didn’t grew with its reputation the festival is always sold out in record time. This year it only took a staggering two minutes.
