Winter Festival Guide 2015/2016

#05 Bugged Out Weekender | 15-17 January | West Sussex, UK

Could not keep the brits longing months for a proper festival during the cold period, thus Bugged Out brings a solid, and we mean solid lineup for the occasion. The UK promoters have been at it since ’94, throwing momentous parties and weekend-long festivals that combine superstar acts (Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers) with a close cast of regulars. The Chems return for a DJ set at this year’s edition, which will take place at Bugged Out Weekender’s traditional home of Butlins holiday resort in Bognor Regis (following a year at Pontins in Southport). 21 years in, these guys are still near the top of their game.

#04 Nachtiville | 13-15 November | De Eemhof, Netherlands

A lakeside rave in the German countryside, which slowly (in over 20 years) grew into a full-blown festival is highly blamed for an off-the chain line-up of all the deeper and weirder. Giegling, Workshop, Intergalactic FM and Hamburg’s Golden Pudel crew will all be there in force, along with an inspired cast of Nachtdigital alumni, including Lena Willikens, Optimo, Sandrien and Ben UFO.

Line up | Job Jobse | Ben UFO | Dekmantel Soundsystem | API (Arif Malawi & Chris Helt) | Atom TM & Tobias | Dollkraut | JP Enfant,  | Martyn | Mattheis | OneTake | ROD | Sandrien | Lena Willikens | Alex Solman | Intergalactic Gary etc.

#03 Snowbombing | 4-9th April | Mayrhofen, Austria

Transforming the sleepy Alpine town of Mayrhofen into a dance music haven, Snowbombing has set up to keep its diverse crowd on its toes. With smash-headliner The Prodigy leading the way for a finetuned selection of house and techno artists. All of this musical prowess can be enjoyed in the most amazing settings to come across at a festival, including a sky-high igloo, forest clearings, medieval barns and of course the inevitable après ski bars.

Line up |Jamie Jones |  Mark Ronson | The Prodigy | Jungle | Netsky | Groove Armada | Marcel Dettmann | Hot Since 82 | The Martinez Brothers Jackmaster, Danny Daze | Anja Schneider  | Rodriguez Jr. | Andrea Oliva | Nic Fanciulli | Sebo K. etc.

#02 Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival | 5-8 November | Brooklyn, NY, US

Where else than New York City, where else than in Brooklyn, who else than Masters At Work. Since 2008, Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival has been a rare occasion for the different sects of the city’s electronic music scene to come together under one roof. Covering even few roofs and a stunning variety of artists from Africa, Britain to Detroit and of course home, BEMF 2015 will also host the only scheduled US show for Floating Points’s 11-piece live ensemble.

Line up | Laidback Luke b2b Gina Turner | Oneman |Masters At Work & Soul Clap | George Fitzgerald | Virginia | Armand Van Helden |Floating Points (Live) | Daniel Avery | Matrixxman | Luke Hess | Volte-Face | Voices From The Lake (Live) | Patrick Russell, Mike Simonetti etc.

#01 BPM Festival | 8-17 January, 2016 | Playa del Carmen, Yucatan, Mexico

When it comes to BPM, it is easier to say who is not going to be there, instead of naming ones that will. It’s the essential winter getaway with the full house of the music family. The tropical sojourn is returning to the sandy beaches of Playa del Carmen, Mexico and stretches across ten days of continuous musical programming. In lieu of festival stages, BPM’s attendees are free to wander across myriad parties that run from day to night to day again (and repeat). Droog’s Culprit, Hotflush, Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, Ellum, DJ Tennis’ Life & Death, Drumcode, and Guy Gerber’s Rumors are just a few labels throwing showcases throughout the ten days, in addition to brands such as All Gone Pete Tong, Joseph Capriati’s 100% JC, Richie Hawtin’s ENTER., and Jamie Jones’ Paradise.

Line up – we won’t even try…
