California’s Woogie Weekend Celebrates Sunshine, Beats, And Yoga With Official Aftermovie

Over the weekend of July 8-10, Los Angeles’ Do LaB returned to Oak Canyon Park for the second annual Woogie Weekend.

With two reimagined stages (The Hive and Kaleidoscope), an eclectic collection of revellers and, of course, House and Techno’s finest representatives braved the soaring temperatures and descended onto the intimate, carefree playground where they would be welcomed by a plethora of activities: frisbees punctured the skies, vendors provided healthy offerings that crossed the spectrum of diet and desire, an (infamous) slip n’ slide, pop up water balloon battles, morning yoga sessions led by Gigi Snyder, Kishan Shah, Michelle Nayeli Bouvier, Shawni and Shayne Almeida, and some of the best lounging about the West Coast can offer (and that’s saying a lot).

Now, all the frills of the event are great, but what about the music? Well, daytime parties saw electrifying performances from the likes of Blond:ish, FVDM, Tâches, Dena Amy and the last minute surprise addition Lee Reynolds. when day turned to night and the stars lit up the skies, a carefully crafted selection of premiere international talent took to the stage. Amongst the performances were Do LaB’s own Jesse Wright, Jon Hopkins, the masked Claptone, Crosstown Rebels Damian Lazarus, an master of the deeper side of underground techno Oliver Huntemann. These performances let into Sunday’s musical, which included an ethereal performance from Kidnap Kid and a tantalizing set from surprise addition Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (T.E.E.D) who closed out a fanciful weekend of epic proportions.

All in all, Woogie Weekend brought sublime vibes, vivacious dancing, blue skies, and quality music for a mid-summer soiree that can be considered a welcome addition to any festival season. Check out the official aftermovie below and, if you were there, relive the experience, and if you were not, well, set those alerts for next year’s ticket sales now.
