Amsterdam’s ADE Insiders: Detroit Swindle
Enthusiastic record diggers and synth hunters, as well as world class DJ’s, Amsterdam’s Detroit Swindle’s ability to connect musical styles has found them at the top of their game.
True dance music renaissance men, the duo have released on the likes of Freerange, Future Classics, Dirt Crew, Tsuba, Classic Music Company, Kaoz Theory, while, of course, running their own Heist Recordings.
On ADE’s Saturday, 22 October, the guys bring Heist Recordings to Amsterdam’s newest night spot,Claire. Alongside Soundmachine, the night sees Mathew Herbert, Nebraska (live), Frits Wentik, Honey Soundsystem, and Beesmunt Soundsystem all welcoming the weekend’s festivities in style.
Anticipating ADE, the Amsterdam favorites have put together five of their top places to hang in the ‘dam. How do they compare to some of your favorite places?
is the best Ramen spot in Amsterdam and the ultimate sunday (after weekend comfort food) spot. Their Tonkotsu is nothing short of amazing. Be sure to order sides; kimchi, silky tofu and the homemade gyoza. Also a good spot to bump into people of all feathers.
is one of the more specialised recordstores in Amsterdam. If you want some vintage disco or some nice afrobeat, this is the spot to go to. Also make sure you check the window next door, big chance you see us playing at Redlightradio.
has just opened and is one of many successful projects by the group of guys that started Disco Dolly, Bloemenbar and Claire. They just nailed the atmosphere and the food is amazing. The terrace is next to the Amsterdam lake, the IJ.
Seeing we are big bike enthusiasts you can find us at RUSTY GOLD MOTORSHOP on the Overtoom. This shop is not only for bikers but also for guys that like nice stuff like cool jackets, tools, boots or just a friendly cup of coffee with owner and our buddy Zoran.
Last but not least (and mentioned before) our new hangout CLAIRE. This location used to be Studio 80 (widely known) but is now re-designed, re-decorated, well basically a complete overhaul. We’ll start our bi-montly Heist nights here at ADE on the 22nd of October with Mathew Herbert, Frits Wentink, Nebraska (live) & yours truly. Hopefully see you there!
