During DGTL Festival 2014 New Jersey-born Tanner Ross will be teaming up with his fun-lovin’ Crew Love brothers, letting us indulge on a heavy dose of that funky sound he’s known for. Here’s a mix that will give you a taste of the beautiful madness that will be going on at the Crew Love Stage during that April day.
The one constant throughout the life of Tanner Ross is music, since being raised in New Jersey in a family environment heavily influenced by music new and old, to his current status as a passionate and driven DJ and producer. In high school he found himself in numerous bands playing everything from funk to punk, but it was after progressing to study synthesizers and production at Boston’s renowned Berklee College Of Music that things fell into place. Captivated by underground electronic music, his own productions were soon being released on labels such as Dirty Bird, Freerange, Airdrop and Culprit and this naturally led him into DJing, where he met now regular collaborators Soul Clap, and his journey became clear.
The rest is history and Tanner Ross has chiseled out a very nice spot for himself in the international DJ playground. As you can hear in this mix, his style is as unexpected as it is diverse, immediately wanting you to hear more. And we will, because Tanner has got quite a busy schedule in the coming months. One of the biggest things to watch is a remix of Claude VonStroke on Dirtybird and another remix for Soul Clap and Robert Owens coming out on Soul Clap Records, he has multiple collabos lined up with Chopstick + John Jon and an exciting new audiovisual live project with Deniz Kurtel that’s coming soon. Last but not least: expect new music coming from a collaboration with Nick Monaco for his upcoming album. Can you think of a better musical companionship than those two cats together in a studio?
But of course, we Dutchies are all waiting patiently to see the man of the hour on the Crew Love Stage during the first day of DGTL Festival 2014, together with homeboys PillowTalk, Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb and Navid Izadi. Snorkels on and get down!
