Ellen Allien Brings In Store ‘Vinylism’ To Rotterdam
Conceived as an intimate way to support her favorite record shops around the world, BPitch control’s Ellen Allien has created ‘Vinylism’.
The idea behind ‘Vinylism’ is simple enough – Ellen travels the world, playing vinyl only sets at her favorite record shops. The records are carefully selected from the shop itself, and audiences are invited to hang out and enjoy the music, environment, and medium.
‘Vinylism’ started in early 2016 with performances at Lucky Records (Rejkavik), Discos Paradiso (Barcelona), Ultrasuoni (Rome), Gravity Records (Turin), Smallville Records (Paris), and La fin du vinyle (Montreal). So far in 2017, Ellen and ‘Vinylism’ have hit Milan’s Serendeepity, with Rotterdam’s Clone being the year’s second, followed by Superior Elevation in New York City.
