This Summer, Black Coffee assembled some of Afro House’s finest underground talent for his debut Hï Ibiza Saturday residency, bringing a new sound and a new crowd to the White Isle.

Among these are Hyenah, and Cape Town selector Ryan Murgatroyd, they joined house hero Culoe de Song, Soulistic music DJ and producer Da Capo and South African duo Black Motion on the bill.

The 2 have put together a playlist representing the Summer – their tracks of the season.

1. Floyd Lavine – Masala (Pablo Fierro Remix) – RISE001

“I played this one quite a bit this summer and it always brought some proper fresh breeze to the floor, no matter what I had played before. Pablo Fierro’s remix always worked wonders. Obviously I am extra proud about this one since it is the first release of my very own label RISE MUSIC. Please be aware of RISE’s second release also featuring a remix by one of the next two fellas.” Hyenah

2. Kanna – Ryan Murgatroyd

“Its a luscious piano track which fits perfectly almost anywhere you play it, from the beach bar to the late night dance floor. It’s perfect for summer afternoons and is definitely a huge dance floor filler. Plus I’m a sucker for a good piano hook.” Ryan Murgatroyd

3. Toukan (Dixon Rework) Manoo & Raoul K – Innervisions

“I guess there is not much to say about Innervisions that has not been said yet. They have been pushing that African sound for a long time: Culoe de Song was first introduced to the world via IV, Henrik Schwarz is always on that tip of House and Raoul K & Manoo are regulars at our events for a good reason too. Dixons Rework of Toukan following that path and killed it every time I dropped it. Every. Single. Time. Much respect!” Hyenah

4. T.M.A – Thousand – Ryan Murgatroyd & Kostakis remix

“I did this remix for the Berlin based T.M.A with Kostakis. The original had a great energy, with a killer theremin hook in the breakdown, and a very unusual vocal that the band recorded, but it wasn’t for the dancefloor. We dug in and added the big bassline and some other bits, and it’s never, ever let us down on any dancefloor. It was released on a small label so hardly anyone plays it, but it’s a hidden gem in my opinion.” Ryan Murgatroyd

5. Baakoya (Armonica Remix) – Mabiisi – MoBlack

“If you haven’t heard Mabiisi’s Baakoya this summer, you did not go to a good party. Armonica’s somewhat tech version let’s the fantastic vocals shine perfectly. That’s what I call a sure shot. No wonder MoBlack is on the radar on way more DJs than the African House Heads. Mimmo’s imprint is getting stronger and stronger.” Hyenah

Black Coffee’s Hi Ibiza residency closes 30th September with a line up TBA, Ryan Murgatroyd will play next Saturday 23rd
