After hosting an exhibition of his work in Australia, Berghain’s infamous doorman Sven Marquardt is now bringing his photography collection to display in Ibiza.

From 15 – 30 August, his 30 years worth of photography will be displayed at the Ibiza Art District‘s Hangar8289, narrating “an intimate story about Berlin’s human reality”.

The exhibition is hosted under the name Future’s Past, curated by Gaia Ammirata, and soundtracked by Italian artist ÆQUAL, all describing Sven’s work as “[His] atemporal and dynamically balanced compositions, hiding an unshakeable tension that emerge implacable in the gazes, offer, also thanks to the commingling with the sound dimension, a new, contemporary reflection about the ancient dualism between ethic and aesthetic.”

For those not familiar, Marquardt’s black and white portraits depict a period of time before Berlin’s reunification, resulting in the rise of the city’s techno scene afterwards.
