Over the years, Together has become one of the most recognisable nights in Ibiza. Playing out at the famous Amnesia, it sits alongside famous nights like Cocoon as the sort of large scale party that brings people from all over the world to the White Isle. Now that Space is gone, there will be even more of them looking for alternatives, and surely Together is it.

Mixing up big name dance acts from across the genre spectrum, the party kicks off in celebratory fashion tonight with a real spread of sounds once more. It’s home, Amnesia, has been around since the 70s, and holds 5000 rave hungry people who all get kept cool by giant ice cannons blasting down on them on the awesome dance floor. It has a sound system that is equally awesome and literally rocks you to your core, while a second room is tailored made for spine tingling moments when the sun beams in through the huge glass windows.

Tonight as we arrive, it’s clear people are up for the occasion as plenty of them look well dressed up. Girls and boys of all ages are in attendance and within half an hour we’ve heard at least five different languages being spoken. The club is a feast for the eyes with stilt walkers, dancers in crazy carnival outfits and much more all stimulating your sense as well as the lights and lasers adding to the experience.

First up on the Terrace is Claptone, the man in the mask who we know little about. But, of course, for his music, which we know is enchanting and atmospheric and calls on all shades of house to do his talking. It is a considered set that gets the crowd into the groove nicely. Taking over the Terrace mantel later on were a very different act in Gorgon City. This pair have climbed high in UK charts and have a rich and pumping house sound. Tonight they go a bit harder with tech house bangers that prop up the floor all night long. They also drop their hot new jam produce in cahoots with Duke Dumont, another Together resident, and it drives the crowd mental.

People climbed on each other’s shoulders and get sweaty throughout and they will be glad to hear this pair are back later for a back to back session with Rudimental another week this summer. The energy levels stay just as high when the drum & bass takes over with Chase and Status then their mentor and legendary Ram label head Andy C come correct. The former drop some jump up bangers, the latter gets more euphoric, smooth and fluid and stems us to a higher place.

There is so much action in a night at Together it is impossible to check it all. But we managed to catch Hannah Wants powering her way through a beefy and bass driven house set and and it keeps us on our toes, lost in the colourful atmospheres and all consuming sounds, til well past sun up. That will be the case here for 15 more weeks with the likes of Sigma, Pendulum, Friction, High Contrast, Netsky, Sub Focus, Woz, Pendulum, Duke Dumont and MistaJam all lined-up.
