The season on Ibiza is at its peak, high time for UK duo Gorgon City to deliver the right mix for your Ibiza state of mind to fully blossom. The guys are long-awaited guests for two performances at Sankeys Ibiza, where they’ll play alongside the likes of Kidnap Kid, Huxley and Eton Messy.
Gorgon City is the collaboration between North London producers and DJ’s Matt Robson-Scott and Key Jules Gibbon, known for their polished, powerful and party-nixed sound, which already caught the ears of tastemakers as disparate as Diplo, DJ T and Terry Farley. Gorgon City’s distinctive sound is a logical development of the duo’s individual work as Foamo and RackNRuin and a platform for the North London producers to fuse the deeper, sexier sounds they’ve been excited about for years.
It was the summer of 2013 with tracks like ‘Real’ and ‘Intentions’ featuring Clean Bandit that made people sit up and listen but it was early 2014 when their single ‚Ready For Your Love’ stormed the charts and put the pair on the map. The lead single from their debut studio album ‚Sirens’ entered the UK Single Chart at number four and the track, co-written by MNEK, further established Gorgon City’s ability in capturing stunning performances from their collaborators.
Since then the duo toured the world and played the biggest festivals while taking up residence on Virgin EMI Records. Their early influence comes from Jungle House, Grime, Hip-Hop and Garage and by many messy seasons they’ve spent DJing on the White Isle. So it is a perfect match having the global stars presenting our first podcast for Sankeys Ibiza, where the pair will perform on the 5th of August. Funny thing is that the guys start their mix with the OXIA remix of Kidnap Kid’s ‘Fall’, which we premiered yesterday.
