Hideout is famous for being one of the original and most electrifying festivals of the Croatian summer.

This year it was just the same with an epic edition full of energy and non-stop musical adventure. It happens on Zrce beach in the world-renowned Papaya, Aquarius, Noa, Euphoria and Kalypso open air clubs.

The sun shone down and the dance florid were packed, as were the sold out boat parties once again with plenty of places to chill, pools to dip into, terraces to enjoy and high class production that brings each event to life with uninterrupted views of the glistening Adriatic.

Here are some of the best sets we heard.

Ewan McVicar b2b Skream

This is a repeat of last year’s most famous back to back, and boy did the pair pull out all the stops once more. The happy crowd lapped up banger after banger as the DJs exchanged plenty of silliness and playfulness, big tunes, cheeky curveballs and a few classics. They include the likes of ‘Different Side’ by Michael Bibi, KinAhau & Audio Bullys, and ‘Hanging Tree’ by Michael Bibi, both of which got mad reactions and took things to another level.

Hannah Wants

Hannah knows how to play to the crowd and that is what she did, dropping bass driven house banger after epic vocal cut. She had them eating out of her hand when she threw down ‘I Just Can’t Get Enough’ by Herd & Fitz and Abigail Bailey and ‘Kashi Riddim’ by Sam Curran, both of which cut right through and got all manner of big responses. A fine showcase from a Hideout fav.

LF System

This pair of lads had the hit of the summer last year. It’s a feel good house tune with a massive sample, and saw them go on to headline all round the world. They know how to bring the good time vibes and that’s what they did with their set. Full of classic tunes and singalong moments, driving drums and big bass. Epic moments included ‘Hype The Funk’ from Sciencefiction and their own superb ‘Hungry (For Love).’

Barry Can’t Swim

Barry Can’t Swim has blown up of late and is a bold, colourful, impetuous voice in electronic music. He’s dropped some razor sharp cuts full of innovation and backed them up with explosive Das sets and an album on Ninja Tune that blends many styles. He did that at Hideout too with gems like his collab with Anish Kumar, ‘Blackpool Boulevard’, and ‘Adama’ (feat. Roy shpilman) by Omri Shpilman.

Sonny Fodera

The Aussie house master that is Sonny Fodera really had the crowd eating from the palm of his hand. His ‘You & I (Feat. Janai)’ won plenty of big reactions and later ‘Sure Thing’ by Arooster was another memorable moment. His mix of slick bass and catchy melodies, epic vocals and deeper moments was perfectly balanced and will stay with us for a long old time.
