We love Apollonia here at Deep House London, and we couldn’t be more excited at the prospect of their return to the UK for the London leg of their epic world tour. The trio (Dyed Soundorom, Dan Ghenacia and Shonky) appear at fabric this Saturday for another marathon session. Ahead of that headline show, we asked the guys to name their top 5 London hangouts and here’s what they had to say…
A Party:
Colors London, run by Dan’s brother Stephane Ghenacia and his mates, this is one of the coolest new underground parties to come out of London town. They make a real effort on the decoration and creating a positive vibe, while the guest DJs are often kept secret until the last minute. Both Dyed and Dan have played already and the Colors crew have even hosted Room 3 at fabric.
A Club:
(Dyed) Apart from fabric, T Bar will always be the one for me. It was a very special place that focused only on the music, a place to dance, to chill, to stay up late as it used to be open all day on Sunday. It was also a place where a lot of DJs had the chance to express themselves for the first time in England. For me personally it’s where my friend Derren Smart (who passed away earlier this year) gave me my first residency in London. He created something magical there, those who got to experience it before it shut down know what I’m talking about.
To Drink:
To Drink:Number 90 in Hackney Wick is a really cool, super relaxed bar by the river run by our mates who are also behind the party Half Baked. You are sure to bump into some East London mates and they do a good burger!
To Hang:
Shoreditch House is the perfect place to hang out or set up professional meetings, it’s a real creative hub. Of course the super cool thing is that it even has a rooftop pool for when London finally has some sunny weather!
To Sleep:
Ok, so the sleeping part is debatable! But we love to stay at the Malmaison hotel when we are in London to play fabric or also up north to play Sankeys Manchester. It provides the best conditions to make the best of a marathon night, when we play all night long.
